The Achinsk City Court has concluded consideration of an administrative case under Part 1 of Article 9.1 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses (“Violation of industrial safety requirements at hazardous production facilities”). The offender was RUSAL Achinsk Alumina Refinery.
The penalty was initiated by Rostekhnadzor, which sought suspension of operations, including a ban on the use of buildings and technical equipment that are part of the hazardous production facility “Alumina Production Site.”
It was noted that an unscheduled on-site inspection was conducted at the refinery in September. As a result, 32 violations of industrial safety requirements were identified, posing a threat to human life and health as well as to the environment. Consequently, an administrative offense report was drawn up against the legal entity.
After reviewing the case materials, Achinsk City Court Judge Alexey Popov found JSC RUSAL Achinsk Alumina Refinery guilty and imposed a fine of 200,000 rubles.
