In December 2025, the European Commission introcuded Omnibus proposals on environmental and 'food and feed' legislation, which have since then been met with criticism from NGOs and other stakeholders. Overall, there have been 10 Omnibus initiatives as part of the EU's 'simplification' agenda, most of them still ongoing.
