US grants General Licence for its companies to bring “goods, technology, software, or services” for oil and gas exploration into Venezuela

"US eases Venezuela oil sanctions again, this time for oilfield contractors", 11 February 2026.

...The US on Tuesday further eased its sanctions on Venezuela’s oil industry, this time allowing oilfield services contractors to bring equipment into the South American nation.

General Licence 48, issued by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), allows US companies to bring “goods, technology, software, or services” for oil and gas exploration and production into Venezuela.

US laws must govern any deals that contractors will sign with Venezuela and its state-owned oil company PDVSA...

OFAC is also allowing some port and airport operations in Venezuela to resume...
