Accor response re alleged labour exploitation of refugees at branded hotel

All hotels operating under our brands are responsible for ensuring that any suppliers they engage comply with legal, social, and ethical standards, including labour law and Accor’s Human Rights Policy...

  • Novum Hospitality's review determined that the contractor (Ö&I) engaged in November 2025, had, contrary to contractual provisions and without Novum’s authorisation, engaged a subcontractor (AHR) to provide services. This issue only came to light during the official inspection on December 3, 2025.
  • Novum Hospitality responded immediately by terminating the contractor (Ö&I) with immediate effect on December 4, 2025.
  • Accor conducted a formal review of this matter and confirms that the cleaning supplier involved, Ö&I , and its subcontractor AHR were not Accor-nominated partners and were engaged directly by the hotel operator without our Procurement clearance.
  • All cleaning activities have been transferred to directly employed hotel staff by Novum Hospitality, ensuring full transparency and operational control.
